My Baby Mishka has saved a Kite Today

10 Jun 2010 | by Gopal Krishna | Posted in: Wag Wiki

Today I was on a walk with Mishka. She was behaving great but suddenly she started pulling the leash. I tried to control but she did not stop. When I followed her I saw a group of Crows sitting. As Mishka moved towards crows they flew alway and I saw a Kite on the Ground. I went to check the Kite and fortunatly found him alive. He might got a Heat stroke. I brought him home and gave water. he started to recovering fast. But he is still unable to fly. I put him in Mishka's old carate.

please check his photograph in my album and I will appreciate any suggestion regarding heat stroke in Birds..

Great job, there should be more animal and bird lovers like you.

Consult a vet and or if there is an NGO in your city. The kite can be very dangerous once back to normal and catching it can be a problem and stressful for it in the house if got loose, plus feeding. It would require a big secure cage where it can be safely kept and properly fed. It may also require a drip if it is suffering from a heat stroke, but a vet can best advise. Delhi has a bird hospital, may be you can try to contact them and get some advise. Forest department can also be contacted in your city for help or handing the kite over to them.

The Kite is doing well. he is alright but still little bit weak to fly properly. I will set him free in 1 or 2 days. I guess heat stroke was not too bad and I got him on time.
