Boston Terrier Training

While people wear clothes for a number of reasons from protecting ourselves from the weather to making ourselves look and feel good, dressing a Boston Terrier is generally because the owners choose to do so, and some for the same reason people and children wear clothing. In fact many owners see their pets as their children and they purchase clothes for them to demonstrate how much they mean to them.

Some owners purchase protective clothing for their Boston Terrier, as these breeds generally feel the cold a lot more than their larger counterparts. They are reluctant to go out in the rain, snow or cold wind and would prefer to stay indoors. In order to keep them active even during the colder months dressing your pet in protective clothing has become quite popular. From raincoats and hats to water proof wet weather gear to rain boots which are generally fastened by Velcro or zipper. Other protective coats are available that are fleeced lined, wool or shearling. The boots protect their feet from ice and salt.

During the summer months when its quite hot, special sandals may be worn to protect their paws from the hot asphalt or sand. Some owners purchase sunglasses to protect their eyes. However, this may be something you can bring up with the veterinarian to check if it will provide any benefits.

Most owners aren’t interested in dressing up their pet but would generally consider obtaining reflective vests when going out for evening walks as well as making it easier to find your dog when hunting, camping or if they have dark coats. So they can be quite practical.

Another option is using a harness that may be attached to a variety of outfits instead of using a collar. Some collars can irritate or injure their trachea, hence why the alternative harness is quite safe.

There are a number of different styles or clothing available some are quite practical while others may be attractive or lavish. This breed is known for wearing a variety of clothing and they do look quite cute in them too. I’ve seen them in bathrobes, dresses, sweaters, pajamas, formal and wedding attire, and in a number of costumes. If you like being a bit creative you could make them yourself by purchasing patterns for anything like pillows, blankets, coats, leg warmers or boots. The fashion range is endless.
