Quality of vet services that I have experienced.
Dr. N.D. Sharma is retired from State Animal Husbandry Dept. When I came to know about him in 2002/2003 he was running dog boarding with his son. At that time my wife had once brought in home a stray female adult that she had found passing by our gate crying and dragging her rear portion as if the legs or the lower back had been hurt. We had just shifted to Lucknow and not knowing any vets had come to know about Dr. Sharma through a PFA member who had also told us that there was no quality vet left in Lucknow. At that time another vet surgeon-cum-radiologist was out of station. We had taken the dog to Dr. Sharma's clinic in Arjun Nagar where he had given some injections but did not feel anything was broken. On the dog showing no improvement, Dr. Sharma had visited our place but had refused to even touch the dog and had come up with the presumption that the dog had distempter. No lab test, no diagnostics. Of course, the dog passed away and since then I used to worry as to what would be the fate of our Jerry if it fell ill in this God forsaken city. In 2008/2009 I came to know through another PFA member that Dr. Sharma and some other vets were involved in giving cooked up figures for a dog sterilization campaign that had been undertaken by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. For each sterilization the vets were entitled to Rs.400. Most dogs that were operated were left without any hospital recovery stay and could be found loitering bleeding as the stitches had opened. .
