20 Jan 2015 | by Neha Manchanda | Posted in: Wag News

Brave dogIt takes great stamina and determination to run a marathon and this same resolute was shown by the most unusual runner in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon that was held on Sunday, 18th January 2015.

A one eyed Indian dog allegedly ran 10 kms, from Dadar’s Shivaji Park to VT, with the participants of the race. One of the runners noticed the dog and informed the NGO “Save our Strays” so that the NGO can be on a lookout for the dog and rehabilitate him. The dog who stays near the Ganpati Temple in Dadar’s Shivaji Park lost his eye to an injury, yet nothing has dampened his spirit at the marathon. As the race culminated, the dog started running merrily along with the participants.

The volunteers at “Save our Strays” are on a lookout for him as the dog is now about 10 kms away in an unfamiliar territory. The volunteers hope to find the dog soon and rehabilitate him. One of the participants in the marathon described the dog to be a full grown male with white fur.
