Necessary Documents ?

I recently bought a golden retriever from a pet shop. The shop owner had said that it is from an import bloodline and charged me Rs. 15,000. He said the papers would be filed by the owners and I would get it in 2-4 months depending on the time taken by KCI for processing. How do I check the authenticity/accuracy of the bloodline? Also I would like to take my dog to the dog shows in the city. What are the formalities for that?

Kindly help!  I would be tremendously grateful !
