11 Aug 2016 | by Deepshikha Tahiliani | Posted in: Wag News

Yes, you heard us! This unique facility is now available at the Indira Gandhi International airport. It is certainly very good news for pet owners. The families who plan their vacation and leave their pet behind can change this trend. PetFly is offering to take care of your pet that would involve pickup service, grooming, caging, feeding, doing the mandatory documentation, vet visits and finally deliver them to the place of your choice.

PetFly is providing the pet owners two alternatives in which a pet can be flown; one through cargo and the other one by booking an excess baggage ticket with the respective airline. The second option would require the owner to visit the PetFly desk. This will help you to get clearance for your pet from the airlines. It can be accommodating your pup in a suitable size kennel and get him check-in as an excess baggage.

As per the officials, the passengers are totally loving this facility. The figures have doubled up since the time it has launched in July last year. In 2014, there were about 200 pets that were availing the facility, this year this number has touched the figure of 400.

As per Dr. SK Choudhary, the owner, and director of PetFly, “Earlier, there were incidents of pets either escaping or dying during transit as they were handled by untrained professionals. Moreover, pets can get deported without proper documentation. We make sure such things don't happen. We also make arrangements with the airlines to allow flyers to carry pets of up to 8kg as hand baggage.”

How cool is this? Now leave your worries at home instead of your pup. Fly with them and have a happy vacation.
