Who are eligible to be member of breed specific clubs in India, like Labrador club of India, Boxer club, great dane club, etc. I've heard the membership is given on life-long basis. Also, what is the criteria of registering a puppy to local clubs, like Delhi club, Dehradun club. Does membership to these clubs make dogs eligible to take part in the respective city. Like a puppy registered to Chandigarh club taking part in KCI hosted show in Chandigarh.

The papers given to me is the Litter Registration certificate. But in the certificate the breeders name is given.
How and what is the procedure of transferring the ownership of the dog too me?

What's the best way to "score" an appointment from a KCI official. I've tried calling Mukul Dev, but all attempts have gone in vain. Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with these offcials. Why's there so much red-typism in the registration? My friend's KCI papers are not in for 8 months now.
Does anyone have any contact details of any KCI official whom one can contact realistically? No wrong numbers as I'm little pissed off with this entire process.
Also, is there any process wherein this excessive red-typism can be reported anywhere? Am sure there must be a machinery wherein we can report this delay and seek prompt action.

I have one question from all of you that is there any license required to keep a lab dog in India. why i am asking this question as because one of my friend told me that to keep any large breed dog you need to get license in kolkata india so kindly help me as i am having a lab puppy of 3+ months who stay with me..

I am in the process of buying a lab pup and need my query answered about the need for KCI registration
I am buying the pup to be brought up as a family Dog / companion dog.
The seller assures me of the breed by saying that he will take back the pup if there is any breed related issue.
Of all lab pups I have seen for the last one month , this one really looks beautiful with a shiny coat and black nose and eyes.The vet also assures me of its quality
Moreover I dont intend to put the dog in any dog show
Should I still insist on KCI papers (The breeder says that it takes 4-5 months and the charges are Rs 1000 for papers.He doesnt know that a microchip is always provided with the registration and says that it costs another 1500)

My Lab (Puddles), who was of a champion line passed away a few years back due to cancer. I wasn't able to register him as a pup with KCI as the papers got lost in the mail! Though he was mated and his son(Buddy) is with family friends I would like to get him mated in order to keep Puddles grandson.
The main problem I'm faced with is in order to get Buddy mated I need to get him(who is 3 yrs. plus now) registered with KCI to ensure he finds a mate easily as it is very difficult to find a mate for a good looking pure bred dog with no papers.
I would request an early reply as I do have sentimental attachment to my dogs and would be happy if some one could help me out.
Looking forward to hear from someone.
