Skin Problems - Dog Forum

I own a 2.5 yr old Male Labrador Retriever, who's been having this problem since some time. On the underside of his left paw, between the digits he's having a lot of redness, and I'm guessing pain, because he has been limping for quite some time now. I have been to a no. of vets with him, and have followed all their suggestions to the 'T' but to no avail. The floor of our house is made of marble, which we were told, initially, may be the cause. So we put him out in the compound for a week, but no change. Then, someone said it may be due to the liquid sanitizer we use to clean the floor, so we made some changes, even stopped using it, but the results were still the same. He's a bit overweight, may be weighs around 60 to 65 kilos. Weight was also apparently said to be a factor so we cut down on processed dog food and are giving him just boiled veggies, pulses and rice mixed together along with buttermilk coz its pretty hot out here in India. No change coz of the food too. Recently, our vet said its a fungal infection thats been persistent for some time, so he prescribed some antibiotics (Ciprofloxacin) and Cetrizine for 10 days. We are into the 9th day but I see no progress whatsoever. His limp has remained the same/worsened, and I'm not able to take the pain he's going through. Please help if your dog too has had/having the same problem

Hi i am having 2 yr gsd.I noticed that my dog got dandruff.I am giving food as usual,but i do not know why it happened. Please suggest me for cure,he is itching a lot.

Here's wishing you all a very good morning...Well my question is about my year n a half chinese mastiff girl...she is going thru hair loss in patches n is itchy all the time...plz suggest medication...plz dont suggest ne injectibles. Thank you n wish u all a gr8 day ahead.

hi iam having 2yrs gsd longcoat.from last 2 months iam using one shampoo.i forgot that name.but after using that my dog loss too much hair,and he is getting itching.pls tell me the good shampoo and soap for him

Hi to all..My 4 years old boy is sheddin hair...is it natural...there n no patches though. If persists plz suggest some medication. We dont want no injections.

i hv a 4 yrs lab female.. she sheds hair v mch... i stay in a flat so its really a problem now... she has no dandruff problem or any skin disease... i regularly take her to vet. he gives one injection and Glofurr syrup.. bt its not working at alll.. pls suggest me something

we have tapped its ear last week using the cold drink strow on its back of the ear glueing the same and there is noticable improvement.

About your question regarding the problem in it parents, there is no such probem in its parents neither in its litter.

As we have tapped its ear the hair from its ear is gone is it the concern or the same will be recovered? if yes how much time will it take.

for your information Father is V - rated in 2010 and the mother is indian champian in 2010.
