Why my dog wakes up so early and show eagerness to play?

Hi guys, I have a problem. I have a Labrador puppy who'll start his fifth month in August. The problem is he wakes up a lot earlier in the morning ( 3'o clock or 4:30 AM ) and shows he's desire to play. If we ignore him, he'll bark. He sleeps in our varandah as he doesn't like to sleep in the room probabley becoz of high temperature and humidity. The Varandah is well ventilated and we got a special tab fan installed for him. Since I sleep around 1 am at night I find it very difficult to sit with him on the varandah at 3-4 AM in morning. Now as a result of lack of sleep I'm not able to spend quality time with him ( I won't sleep unless he falls into a deep sleep and when it's time to spend time with him ( usually 6-7 AM in morning ), I will feel sleepy and go to the bed. I exercise him at 7 in the morning for 20 minutes and then at 11:30 at night for same duration. He's been fed according to the time table. So, I fail to understand why he wakes up so early and showes eagerness to play. A month ago, he would even refuse to sleep and kept on barking. I started to use assertiveness and say No Barking Now, go to sleep now. This has started to work but I failed to understand why he wakes up at night.

You can offer him few treats, raw hides and chews to keep him busy, so that you can continue your sleep. Make sure he is waking you up for taking him to do pee or poop. if so take him for a doing so and offer him some treats to keep him busy.
