Does anyone have any idea what is happening?

I have been using Taste of the Wild Dog food for my Pugs for the last 5 or 6 months. Since there is no supplier in Northern India, the importer in Hyderabad sends me the consignment directly. The last consignment I got was about 10-15 days ago wherein one package was eaten by rats. The importer promised to replace this package by last Monday which I have not received yet, but since I last spoke to him on Saturday 29th October his phone is switched off and no one answers the emails sent to his email address. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?

Hi Priya, that's what happen when there's only one supplier of a particular product in the market. Monopoly often results in bad quality and bad service. I anticipated this problem 5 months and decided not to use the product as there're fewer suppliers. I think, the best option for you is to complete all your dealing with the importer and switch to BARF/PMD diets which is the best you can offer to your dog. Biologically Appropriate Raw food and Prey Model Diet tend to be a lot cheaper than commercial dog foods which cost fortunre.
If you still insist feeding commercial processed foods, you can go for brands as competitive as TOW, FEW I'd like to name are- Canobites, Scienceplan and Royal Canine.

Pugs do well in Raw diet actually they love it. It would be cheaper also when compare to taste of wild. If still you prefer packaged food then as Navjot said go for Science Plan or Royal Canin.

Kamal is among very few sensible owners who've been feeding BARF to their dogs. He has considerable experience and knowledge when it comes to canine diet so please follow his advice.

I decided to stop grain heavy foods because my Pugs developed allergies to them. They hated Royal Canin and Hills and are thoroughly enjoying TOW which I combine with Salmon Oil by Beaphar and a little chicken soup. Their coats also look gorgeous. I have been in touch with TOW USA and they have promised TOW will be back and that they will sort out any issues there may be. The other option is Timberwolf which is also grain free. Raw food particulary meat of any sort is not recommended by my Vet, so that is something I will avoid. Pugs abroad are fed raw, but in our local conditions I believe, it is not advisable. I have about 4 weeks stock of TOW, so I guess that should see me through. I just wanted to know if anyone had heard anything about what is happening at TOW.

Well, in any service oriented industry there are problems. I did inquire and learnt that Natural Pet's Director was travelling abroad. In either case do not know why there was a problem with phone or email, the company has informed that there is enough stock for the next 4 months and a new container will arrive with new products/formulas.
This is a global brand with 6 stars and a strong review from Whole dog journal, thus making it the only 6 star rated WDJ grainfree brand in India. Natural Pet has far exceeded the customers satisfaction in terms of service /brand equity and product satisfaction. They tend to stay exclusive and their ultra speciality and ultra premium supplement range launch is due.

I have also tried Timberwolf, an excellent brand but not worth the effort, especially at that price. This is not a WDJ approved brand, 38% protein in some formulas, high amount of feeding grams and lastly no manufacturing base of their own in U.S.A.

I have read reviews about calcium content in TOW. Please note that Giant breed puppies growth have to be monitored and not that it is bad to give them these diets. These products are AAFCO approved and sold globally in almost 45 countries, people are right that the Lamb formula is less in calcium but that is for older/less activity dogs. The three formulas have to be rotated as per requirement for high-moderate protein, fat and calcium levels.

I strongly urge people not to just follow the vet's advice or some online reviews. I have reared GSD's for many years now and have lively monitored large/giant breed puppies on Taste of the Wild, fantastic brand/results.

Good Bye Now.

I solved my problem by getting in touch with Taste of the Wild USA. They solved everything extremely professionally and since then TOW has been in contact and online. I would expect the same level of professionalism here too.

However, I am an extremely satisfied customer of TOW and my Pugs are doing fine on the Pacific Stream Formula, i.e. fish.

I am glad that TOW worked very well for countless pet owners from past 5 years. I also loved TOW. Unfortunately, Natural Pet has discontinued importing TOW due to the reason that American pet foods are not allowed in India.

Try Brit Care, the super premium range made with New Zealand Lamb and free from corn, wheat and soy. The results are excellent. Brit Pet foods is a big company from Europe. They have huge range of products and one of the leading manufacturers who sell all over the world. I am glad that these products are now available in India.

Natural Pet has truely lived pet owners expectations by getting top brands .
