huse of life

Hello everybody.
i am looking for a dog for myself and family.
i always wanted to have a dog but don't know why i am still waiting.
though i adopted cat before but unfortunately our Meenu passed away.
i need your help in deciding which dog will be suitable for me.
i did some research and mostly are saying that get a Labrador. they are best etc..
one of my friend has a labrador its a good dog no doubt about it. but my research on internet has attracted my view towards our Indian breed called Bhutia.
now i am confused between this two breeds as to which one should i get? Labrador or Bhutia?
also i am from Mumbai so please provide some contacts if you know where i can get them in Mumbai.
Thank You..

Getting a dog for urself is not difficult. You first gotta know what you want. There are various kinds of dogs you can get VIZ a home dog, a lap dog a watch dog etc. or do you want one who is just your baby? What exactly do you want? Let me know and I will advise you accordingly.

Indian pedigree have their on merits. They've been living in our conditions for very long and hense they have now adapted themselves to our conditions. Also indegenious breeds tend to have better immunty to fight diseases. They are versatile and maintainence free. On the other hand, foreign pedigrees tend to have health related problems, genetic or otherwise. For example, Labradors are prone to Hips Dyslasia, Rotweillers can have week bones, Pugs can develop breathing problems. The list is go on and on.
The indegineous breeds are unfortunatley not so popular and people tend to get attracted towards foreign pedigrees.

@Charles Cantopher
thank you for replying mate.
i am looking for a dog with friendly nature and which can protect themselves and my family. kind of courageous.
i do know that Labrador's are just play dogs and they won't be able to defend themselves but most of the shops here in Mumbai where i roam have Labrador's. :(..and i don't trust any of them because they don't treat their pets carefully.

i am not looking to breed. right now i am just looking for a good friendly dog who can ease out our tension and become a member of our Family. its always our nature that we pay special attention towards special member.

actually i am more leaning towards our own Indian Breed Bhutia.
Labrador's are pretty common in our Colony. we have around 4 Labrador's our colony. They are costly too here in Mumbai.
so i think our Bhutia will be less costly and more strong, healthy than Labs.
well according to what i have read that Bhutia can tolerate hot climate too cause they are adaptive to Indian Climate as they are Indian Natives.

@ Suraj
thanks for the link buddy.

@Navjot Singh
completely agree with you Sir..
i am pretty much looking our Indian breed dogs, that my 1st preference.
i have every faith in our Indian Natives. they are equally match to foreign breeds.

looking forward to some more replies.
thank you guys.

Hi Prakash,

Never buy a puppy from a pet store, veterinary doctor or a backyard breeder. Read this blog . Post your query there and he will help you. Best guy in India.

take care
