Some residents have started complaining about dog poop and pee. What to do?

Hi I live in an apartment in Bangalore. We are 9 dog owners with 11 dogs and 6 strays in a society of 230 flats. Of lately some residents have started complaining about dog poop and pee. We pet owners make sure that we scoop after our dogs poop but can't do anything about stray dogs and dog pee. Residents refuse to give us a designated area and want us to take our pets on road. We refuse to do so as it is one of the busiest roads in Bangalore and it endangers my dog and my life. I know about Supreme Courts ruling that strays can not be culled and relocated, I am concerned about our pets. We clean poop but can not do anything about dog pee. 1. Can the association fine us for dog pee? 2. What are our rights when it comes to dog pee? 3. Is there any rule which protects us from our society trying to ban pets or tenants with pets? Thanks Pavneet Soni

Hi Dog Lover... Thanks for your response. I did try to get in touch with CUPA but never heard anything from them.

Anyhow, the problem has been fixed. Thanks to those who wanted to ban pets, we pet owners were forced to read about our rights. Apparently everyone was surprised to know the support law has for animals.

We used information from Animal Prevention Act 1960 and various recent rulings of various High Courts. We did not limit our information to us but passed on to fellow pet owners in near by campuses who were facing similar issues.

@Pavneet, its really good to hear your case. I m also staying in an apartment and I think I m the sole dog owner in this apartment. Few people have started complaining and I m expecting soon association might bring in some rules. Do you have any more site links/references where I can find more about pet owner rights living in an apartment and if association can really prohibit me from having my pet?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
