Etisha I would suggest you check out some of the local shelters in your area as purebred puppies, that too Dobermans, are not really available for FREE adoption. Also I am a bit concerned that even if you do find one how will you afford the maintainance of the dog if you cant afford to buy one. My advice to you would be dont get a dog.

If u really want a dog then adopt a stay pup. They need homes & u need pup, so u can fulfill each others need.

dobby r very energetic
try lokin for lab , they r vry calm and good with kids
but then its a expensive affair , depending how u pamper the pup ( 2000 --- 5000) monthy with lot of time and energy
my own eperience , my sister took my puppy to her house , she has two kids , got him back with in 3 days , she could not manage him ,
think over it also
may people buy or adopt dogs and then with in few day they want to give them away , its really sad for the pets

lab or doberman... they will be about the same amount of work, and donberman has tht intimidating look and r much advantaged as watch/ guard dog. Best if u have some dog handling experience to have a doberman.

But for one I agree with royal spaniels above, do consider econimics b4 getting a dog, their needs for food, chewy toys, leash etc can pile up a few bills. Also you'd be budgeting time for walks etc, dogs can be a bt demanding sometimes.
