Let me begin by saying that I'm not an "experienced member" but I am commenting based on my limited understanding!
I-Pill is an emergency contraceptive meant for women not dogs!
I-Pill works by altering the hormonal levels in women.
Dogs and humans have different combinations of hormones. The reproductive cycles of the 2 species are different as well. Female dogs have estrous / oestrous or heat cycles whereas humans have menstrual cycles.
I-Pill is an emergency contraceptive and not an abortion pill. It is of no use and will not have any effect if the pregnancy has already started so your question about the abortion/miscarriage is not even valid here! You should have referred to 2-3 vets for an opinion before giving her the pill or should have atleast read the information that comes with the I-Pill box.
Also, I-Pill does have side effects but since its already been a month I think your pom should not be threatened by that atleast.
Why aren't your dogs spayed and neutered if you have a bitch in heat at home? I am not sure about this but I think spaying surgery can also be carried out within a certain time period after mating though it becomes more complicated. Did your vet discuss this possibility?
I hope some experienced vets or dog breeders step in and comment to help answer your other question.
It is probably too late to undo the past so I hope all goes fine with your doggie now.
