Walk Your Dog. There will be a lot of our patrons who would be thinking what's new to this campaign; we all take our dog out for a walk. If you are one of those then think again. You maybe the ardent dog lover but in reality how many of us actually have the time in our everyday hectic life to take our pets for one thing they love; their walks? Somehow that is the only thing that takes a back foot. The walk is always compromised whether it is for a party or for your office.
We at DogSpot understand the need of these walks, the importance it has in your pet’s life and the bonding that comes with it. So, we started the initiative Walk Your Dog, this allows you take your dog for a walk while allowing you to meet pet owners for all walks of life.
Our dogs are like a part of our family; they can be our companions, siblings and kids for us. At DogSpot being ardent pet lovers and having numerous dog owners within our own team, we understand the problems a pet parent can face. Some say that there is not enough space to around to take them out. Some apartment complex does not take kindly to pets and then some have neighbours that have a no to tolerant towards pets. So when we took this Initiative to revive this all essential pet walk we choose it to be a part of the Rahagiri day.
Rahagiri is a campaign by the residents of the Gurgaon as the name suggests it is to reclaim the streets of the Gurgaon. It took the zeal of a few citizens to come together and reclaim the streets. PetSpot and DogSpot also choose this platform to begin an initiative of their own ‘Walk the Dog’ that specifically caters to the needs of the dog owners.
Rahagiri started in November and is expected to continue all through March. The campaign brings together numerous people who take on to streets to get back what is rightfully theirs; the road. The roads are blocked for all vehicle movement. The road is then open to the people, you can see people interacting with each other. Kids playing on the street, which is a rare sight these days. Residents doing their morning yoga and happening right in the middle of the Street. dog shows
Walk Your Dog is also on the same lines. We want to bring together like minded people, genuine dog lovers. We want to give them a common platform to interact with each other. Along with everything there is going to be lots of prizes for all your dogs to be won. There were small activities, which will help you to take this prize home. Farmina Pet Foods (Cibau) has recognised the initiative and has agreed to sponsor the treats and prizes this time for pet. This is just the beginning. There are miles to go before we can sleep. In future we aim to rope in other brands for this endeavour as well.
S.K. Upadhyaya, National Head of Sales for Farmina Pet Foods, “We associated with this event because though clichéd this is true. In today’s hectic and busy lives we have forgotten what it is to spend time with your pet. The importance of the walks, the effect it has in the human and canine bond. So, when DogSpot and PetSpot joined hands together to get not only the pet owners but the pets also on a common platform. We thought why not, after all it is integral to spend time with our pets. They are one of our own, we may call them by different names but they are indispensible part of our families. We at Farmina Pet Foods feel that it is our moral duty to make them feel special. What better way to make your canine friends happy other than treats.”
The Walk Your Dog will start from PetSpot, which is located in D 04, Supermarket II, DLF Phase IV in Gurgaon. A grooming parlour and pet boarding facility that is spearheaded by a dog lover herself, Vital Atheya. The aim of this initiative is to help people to bond with your dog, we want to give you some quality time with your pooch. It is believed that a dog is man’s best friend and why not. They give us unconditional love and expect nothing in return. They give us companionship, be with us through our lives up and down. It is now our turn to show them that this love and affection is appreciated and reciprocated. Play fun games with your pets, communicate with like-minded people on this coming Sunday i.e. 12 January 2014. At the moment the event is only open to residents of Gurgaon and the NCR.
The first Walk Your Dog takes place this Sunday at 9:00am; if you are interested then you can send your RSVP on the following link and participate in fun activities with your pet.
