travel with my dog

Posted in Dogs Travel | By: ursula | 07 Oct 2009 11:07 am

Hello, I'm  Ursula and live in New Zealand. I have been in India many times and of course love it.

I have spend lots of time in the north. My heart always goes out to all the street dogs, so sad.

I like to come back to India and spend 1-2 year, hopefully working with street dogs. As I have

a beautiful labrador girl myself, I will take her with me, we are best friends. smiles.

I have done a bit of research and read and hear all sorts. From madness to good positve things.

I have got a few question and hope somebody can answer them. whats requierd to get the non objection certificate

to bring my dog to India? do street dogs attack pet dogs if you take them for a walk? What vaccination do Indien owners

give to their dogs? thanks a lot.

If you are bringing your pet dog then just a certificate of health, complete vacinations record along with rabies and microchip will be required. Unless the airlines you are traveling needs more info etc. Also consult a pet transport company for more details in Kiwi land.

But remember getting your dog back to NZ will be a problem as the dog will have to be put in quarantine etc check with the authorities, in Australia it is about 6 odd months or so.

Hi thanks.Im surprised she has to be microchiped too for India. I know that it will be a problem to take her back, that's why I won't go back there. Thanks
