Woman Arrested For Tying Mouth Of Her Dog With Shoelace

01 Sep 2016 | by Deepshikha Tahiliani | Posted in: Wag News

Another act of animal cruelty has broken our heart. This time, a woman has been arrested for tieing her dog’s mouth with a shoelace as a punishment for the furball. The police were alerted when the picture with dog’s mouth tied with a shoelace appeared on Facebook. Sarah Boothby is from Illinois posted this picture with a caption, “When you chew up mommy’s shoe laces…”

However, the charged offender quickly deleted the picture and her Facebook page. But, on 28th august 2016, Shiloh Police Department received a number of notifications about the picture posted along with a phone call.  The phone call said “a shoe string tied around its snout in a manner that appeared that it could restrict the dog’s air flow. The caption on the post indicated that it was done as a form of punishment.”

After the investigation, the police found out that thankfully the furball wasn’t hurt and was taken care of. Apparently, Sarah has only tied the dog’s mouth with shoe lace for 45 seconds.

The officials issued a citation for Cruel Treatment to an Animal, A Class A Misdemeanour to Sarah.

However, if we look at recent past, this kind of incident wasn’t sole in the lot. Recently, a woman from Florida was also found guilty under the same act. She has put a duct tape on her dog’s mouth and posted the picture on Facebook.

We hope people soon understand that dogs aren’t there for their cruel acts. You love them and they will love you even more!
