Everyone needs a companion and so does your dog. Having a furry friend in your life is one of the best things but giving your friend another company is even better. However, one must take into consideration the right time to bring in another dog at home. Don’t make it a hasty decision.

1. Does your dog really care for a companion?
Before bringing home another dog, make sure that the current pet is friendly enough. This could be figured out by analyzing dog’s behavior. Check if your dog has certain issues like excessive barking, destructiveness, belligerence towards humans etc. if not, then you are good to go! If yes, then you will have to work on socializing your dog with other pooches often.
2. Can your dog adjust with a pup?
Reember your dog was your only fur-kid till your new poochiepie comes home. The new bundle of joy will catch attention of all family members and guests to a great extent, taking away the limelight from your dog. How do you think your dog will react? Are you ready to take up this challenge? Or would you rather want to consider getting a little mature dog home? Think.
3. Are you ready for MORE work?
One more thing that would add on to the list here is that you should be ready to do a lot of work. Having your hands full with two dogs is certainly busy. It’s tedious job to take care of two dogs at home. And who could forget the training part, which might drain you completely. However, with the cuteness that dogs bring in, all the work would seem to be a cakewalk!

Before getting another furry friend, ensure the reason behind it. Is it you who want another dog or the existing pet needs company? Remember to ask yourself WHY DO I WANT ANOTHER DOG? Trust me the answer to this question will put you out of the perplexed situation.
