Two orphans with pasts they can hardly remember and futures they do not seem to care about, Bubbles the elephant and Bella the Labrador Retriever have built an ever lasting bond over the love for water. Bubbles, an ivory orphan rescued by Myrtle Beach Safari in South Beach, California was being well cared for by the facility. A contractor hired to build a swimming pool for Bubbles abandoned Bella as a puppy in the reserve in 2007.
What followed is an eternal bond unlikely to be broken for the rest of their lives. The Labrador who is predisposed to be a water-loving breed, splashes and dives over the gargantuan playmate called Bubbles. Besides enjoying swimming together, they seem to spend the rest of the day in each other’s company as well by napping, eating and having walks alongside since the time they met. The least we can take away from this story is the compassion all species hold for each other. On the contrary, humans have evolved towards loving themselves and their kin. Maybe if they have some love left, to be shared with people of their race and religion. Getting to respecting the existence of another species, let alone having a positive outlook towards them has been left far behind.
We would love to hear from you such stories of your own pets or any animals that you know of.
