Another solid reason which proves that dogs are certainly man’s best friend. Recently, a dog gave his life away while saving an 8-month-old kid from house fire. Yes, this is true indeed. A five-year-old pup rescued the little kid of his owner’s family during wildfire in the house. This happened in Baltimore.

Erika Poremski, the mother of the child, went outside to grab a little something from her car and suddenly the fire erupted in the house. Viviana, her daughter and dog, Polo were inside the house. Erika mentioned saying with a heavy heart, “I tried to keep getting it,” Poremski told CBS News. “She was up the stairs, but the fire smoke was so heavy I couldn’t get past it . . . I kept running back out and back in, trying to get up there. Then, the door curling started falling and I couldn’t get back in.”

Poremski tried her level best to save her little daughter and dog, but failed. In spite of the burns from the deadly flames, she says that “I see all the skin was off my hand from grabbing the rail and it melted off.” However, Polo didn’t take a step back. The pooch put all the efforts and sacrificed his life to save the kid. When the fire fighters arrived, Polo was lying deceased on the ground. Polo was completely covering Viviana, which showed that Polo’s priority was to rescue the little one first.

With god’s grace, Polo’s heroic act, Viviana suffered only few burns on her arms and side and the paramedics were successful in reviving her at the sight. Erika explains that probably the pooch would have had ample of time to flee off the room. For Erika, Polo was her first child; he was her first baby before Viv.

Polo was there for his human and most importantly she showcased why dogs are said to be man’s best friend. May Polo’s soul rest in peace.
