A dog’s loyalty for his human is throughout his life and beyond. Tommy, a German shepherd whose human passed away in 2015 couldn’t move on. The pooch has been regularly attending the mass in that church where his owner’s funeral was held. It’s been two months now that Tommy is seen attending the daily mass.

When his owner Lochi took his last breath, Tommy attended his funeral and followed after the coffin too. According to certain friends of Lochi, late Maria Margherita Lochi was regular in taking Tommy along to the services at the Santa Maria Assunta Church located in San Donaci, Itlay. The furball was permitted to sit at her feet.

Whenever the church bell rings, this adorable German Shepherd strolls quickly to the church. Father Donato Panna of Santa Maria Assunta Church mentioned saying that “He's still coming to Mass even after Maria's funeral. He waits patiently by the side of the altar and just sits there quietly. I didn't have the heart to throw him out. I've just recently lost my own dog so I leave him there until Mass finishes and then I let him out.”

Lochi was an animal lover. As per her friends, Lochi adopted numerous stray animals and with Tommy, it was a special bond. Now that Lochi is no more, the village showered love upon Tommy and is taking care of him. Father added by saying, “Tommy's been adopted by everyone in the village now and he is everybody's friend. Everyone looks out for him and leaves food for him; although it would be nice to find a proper home for him.”

We hope Tommy doesn’t feel the emptiness anymore. We wish Tommy a happy life ahead.
