"Size Does Matter" no we are not talking about another Jurassic Park sequel it is a Tag line which defines Sandane Kennels.  Sandane Kennel is known for breeding and showing world class Great Danes. 
Sandane has a philosophy to believe in, "Great Dogs makes the Pedigree, Pedigree never makes Great Dogs"
Why Great Dane to choose as a breed? Mr. Sanjay Kapoor, owner Sandane Kennel says, “this breed gives me a perfect sense of satisfaction”. He has been keeping dogs since childhood; and through this long journey of keeping dogs Mr. Kapoor has kept many breeds; however Great Dane was one breed which suited his lifestyle and liking.
Ultimately it’s all about falling in love & cupid had Great Dane for Mr. Kapoor.

History and Making of Sandane

1972       Started with mongrel as a Kid also had a Bhutia (Tibetan Mastiff)

1981       Got a Long Coated German shepherd from Meerut

1984       Got a Lhasa Apso- bred it and sold puppies for Rs. 1100 /-

1987       First time saw a Great Dane and fell in love with the breed. It was a harlequin pair at Bhopal Singh Nursing Home, Begam Bagh in Meerut. The goal was to settle in life as soon as possible and own a pair of Great Dane

1989       Bought a Boxer (first KCI registered- Pedigreed Dog)

1991       Huge size Doberman Pinscher got 17 puppies liver color

1997       Got the first Great Dane- Brindle Female. It was bought through Dr. D.P. Singh. This was a non registered and was bred in Jaipur, was known as Sasha-1

1998       Immediately after the loss of Sasha-1, Sandane got a Black Great Dane. This Black Dane was out of breeding of Blue Dane and a Brindle Dane. It was first pedigreed Great Dane at Sandane Kennel. This dog became a Champion and in known as
Ch Sandane Sasha the Special, “Sasha”

Dam and Sire not champion and the puppy was not pick of the litter rather it was a left over.

This female produced multiple champions with different combinations. It was shown in almost all the shows across India. BOB/CC in both the rings at Agra Show (it was a pointed show) beating imports and all the champions- both rings under: Leela ratnam and world renowned Great Dane Judge: Rose Mary Habridge.
Hence proved, Pedigree never make Great Dogs, Great Dogs make Pedigree.

1999       Bought first Great Dane male "Shawn" which needs no introduction, Shawn has been a star from Sandane and its registered name is
Ch. Vidane Leskor at Sandane.

It is a multiple show and lineup winner. Also, remembered as a Great Stud dog. Shawn is father of more than 100s of Great Danes out of which many have become champions.

Shawn and Sasha were the two dogs which brought Name, Fame and Satisfaction. These dogs helped Mr. Kapoor to put down foundations of a well reputed kennel.

2000-2003

"Ch. Sandane Sannah the basic instinct" alias "Sannah" is known to have produced numerous champions. Sannah is Grand Daughter of Ch. Sandane Sasha the Special
Another home bred star Sandane's Strike earned 2 CCs in puppy hood, however it was not shown in the rings further because of temperamental problems. It is still known to be a beautiful Dane, had a 7inch high cropping.

2004       This year has been one of the most happening years for the kennel. On one hand home bred Danes were beating American, Australian and Indian Champions, Sandane decided to have a pair of Great Danes import in whelp from Australia
Ch Sandane Amrolyn special Effect (Sugar) – BOS and CC in both the rings in National Show at Kolkata. Defeating lots of champions and imported Great Dane Females.

Ch Sandane Amrolyn Make my Day (Saxon) became Best Puppy in Show at pointed Show in Chandigarh Dog Show.  Saxon pictures below speak by itself

2007       Sandane adds another star to the kennel Sandane Paquin Strike n Fly, Breeder Mr. Rajesh Katyal. This dog started winning the shows at the age of 7 months, Won Best Puppy in Show and CC under renowned KCI breed Judge Mr. Mukul Vaid.

The biggest achievement of Sandane Kennel happened recently with latest addition in Feb  2007 in the shape of  Ickon Hudsn No Respect V Sandane out of best of the bloodlines from United State of America the pedigree of this new Us import speaks on its own:
 Sire:      Am Ch Windy Hill Kodak Moment (Stud dog of the year- in national specialty)
Dam:     Am Ch Ickon Sasdania Last Dance (Daughter of #1 Great Dane in America for 2 consecutive years named: Am Ch Sasdania Vitag Frozen Asset)

Many Sandane bred dogs have become champions. DogSpot contacted Mr. Ganesh Shanbhoque, Mr shanbhoque bought a pair of Great Danes from Mr. Kapoor in 2003 and here are the list of winnings made by them in different shows:

Ch. Sandane Sensible Decision has been one of the most remarkable produce of Sandane Kennel. This stud is owned by Mr. Ganesh Shanbhoque (Bangalore) was handled by Mr.Vinod of Chennai at Ooty South of India Kennel Club Dog Show and MCC (Madras Canine Club Dog Show) in 2004.  In all the four Rings this dog magically won three rings with BOB and CC beating American, Australian & Indian champions at the tender age of 11 months.

i got a dane from mr. kapoor of sandane....namely sandane paquin strike n fly , and everything went as mr.kapoor said... from the behaviour of the female to the eating habits ... everything went as mr. kapoor said beforehand... mr. kapoor also got her mated to saxon before sending her to me and touchwood i have got wonderful puppies... now they are 21 days old..and are doing exceptionally well. sandane really is satisfying...i hve got wat i paid for... and thanks mr. kapoor for all the support and guidance...for picking up the phone late at nite during whelping hours...sandane rocks..
