DogSpot Gets PAWsitive Peoples' Award, Chief Guest Mr. Amitabh Bachchan

The Pawsitive People’s Award is another feather in DogSpot's cap. We have been recently awarded in the 'Best Dog Friendly Media' category in a star studded function held in Mumbai. The awards were organized by Dogs & More and Royal Canine with the Farzana Contractor, an ardent pet lover spearheading the initiative. There were individuals from various genres who came out to lend their support for the initiative that is protecting and ensuring welfare of all our furry friends. The occasion was graced by Mr Amitabh Bachchan who presented the awards to all the winners.
The Bolshoi Medal was of the highlight awards of the ceremony and was awarded to Max the snifter dog from the Mumbai Police he had detected four bombs immediately after 26/11

The awards function had a neat line-up of dog related entertaining performances by the very best. There were Doggy and Puppy Songs presented by a Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble. Followed by a dance act also, performed by Shiamak Davar dance troop. This was a very energetic performance done by children again. They performed on songs like who let the dogs' out.

People laughed out when Cyrus Burocha came on the stage to talk about dogs and their owners :D
The Pawsitive awards recognized people from various genres of life. This included certificate of honor and trophy category which included an award for a 'The Good Doctor' that is a vet that has worked selflessly towards the betterment of all pet animals; Dr. Umesh Karkare was the proud recipient of this award. When it comes to humanitarian work for pets one can never forget the phenomenal work done by the NGOs, Mr. Ganesh Nayak of 'Animals Matter to Me' was awarded for 'The Dedicated NGO' category.
Ms. Sarita Gulavane was given the 'The Path Breaker' award for her commendable work in the field of artificial insemination of dogs. The last two awards recognized the exceptional work of individuals who have been working to ensure a better world not only for our pets but animals in general. This included 'The Good Samaritan awards, which was given to Mr. Rahulaya Kundtarkar. Mr. Pritish Nandy was given the 'The Torch Bearing Role Model' award for his continuing work in the field of animals.
In addition to this there were five certificates of Merit other than us this included The ‘Best Pet Shop’ category award, which was given to Mr. Sajid Khan of Apsan’s 4 paws NXT. In addition to this 'The Excellent Groomer' award was awarded to Mr. Sanjay Jadhav.
Breeding and responsible breeding is one of the most debated topics today and amidst the puppy mills it is integral to recognize those who breed responsibly. Mr. Minaz Cassum was awarded in the 'Responsible Breeder' category. In addition to this Mr. Subhash Gupta of Zorba International was awarded in 'Most Innovative Product Maker category.

DogSpot was awarded for the intelligent use of web technology and recognized for the unprecedented services it provides to all dogs and other animals. It gives me immense pleasure to receive this honor and getting the certificate. Meeting Mr. Bachchan was a thrilling experience. We at DogSpot believe that it is the undaunted efforts of the team and the patience of  our supporters and users that has got us so far. We started this as a community website to help bring all the dog lovers on the same platform. We never expected that it will be given this award one day. We are thankful to the team and the users enough for what we are today. Events like Pawsitive awards will bring the community of pet lovers together for betterment of pet keeping in India.
Present at the event to lend their support to Farzana Contractor's initiative were Fahad Samar & Simone Singh, Dolly Thakore, funnyman Cyrus Broacha who had the crowd in splits, Madhoo Shah, Bikram & Schauna Saluja with their bull mastiff, Arti & Kailash Surendranath with their Indi-dog, Nikhila Palat with her dog Cookie, Divya & Aditya Hitkari, Pritish Nandy who was also the recipient of an award for the work he has done towards the initiative, Bachi Karkaria, Sabira Merchant, Mihika Mirpuri, Deepika Gehani and many, many more. It was heartening to see individuals from all spheres of society come together with one common goal - that of protecting and initiating initiatives taken in society towards the welfare of our furry friends.
This event was supported by Royal Canin and there were delegates from Royal Canin present at the event, we met Mr. Charles Nuez, GM Royal Canin, Ms. Emilie Moulard, Regional Director at Royal Canin, Ms. Brinda Punjabi, Marketing Manager at Royal Canin and Jessica Coutto, Astt Marketing.
The event was followed by a luncheon where one can mingle with fellow pet parents and animal lovers alike. There were lot of delegates from pet industry to meet and discuss. To name there were Mr. Bharat Pittie  from Bharat international, Mr. Kaushal from ABK Import, Mr.  Harish Mohan from Scientific Remedies, Ms. Anisha Rai, from Dawgz Grooming Parlor, Mrs. Shirin Merchant and Mr. Junaid Merchant from Canines Can Care (Canine Behaviourist & Trainer) and many more.
