1265 days or about 3 and half years is surely a lot of time for anything. Well, this is how long Elijah has been waiting for an adoption. Elijah, a cute pooch was rescued as a stray from Long Island Expressway near New York by a few police office. They brought him to Brookhaven Animal Shelter. However, little did he know, he had no idea for how long he will be there in the animal shelter. Soon, days, weeks, months, years have gone by but nobody made him a part of one’s family. In spite of all this, Elijah smiles every day. Every time he is petted, or some volunteer takes him for a walk, that moment turns out to be the best day of his life.

According to the director of Brookhaven Animal Shelter, Ashley Boyd, “He's just happy being someone's companion. He really engages with you. Even after three years at the shelter, he's never become distant from people. He has a really desirable personality, and he's just a really good dog.”

Elijah is about six or seven years old and is full of energy. There isn’t a single dull moment when you are around him. Recently, he was in New York City with its temporary foster parents. He was a really good boy there. but the reason behind he is often overlooked is because of his size. He is indeed a huge lap dog as per Boyd.
