Fashion shows and modelling have always intrigued us haven't they? But we as pet lovers would love to see our own pets dressed as our little fashionistas. So week long pampering and grooming for our little babies is a must if they want to sparkle on the ramp. This fashion show was started on Saturday and ended on Sunday in Indiranagar, Bengaluru.
Zack, a six month old Siberian Husky was sporting a hat, sunglasses and a military dress. He was pepped by his owner Abhishek Shetty for this pet fashion week 2014 at Pebbles, the dog grooming spa. Zack, who is used to running 12 kilometers daily, has been going to the park at 5 am for one and a half hours these days. He gets a little awkward when he sees new faces so efforts are being made to make him walk with a few of the owner's friends so that he does not get anxious when he sees new people on the ramp.
Another fashionista called Tyfon, a Napoleon Mastiff owned by Shashank was kept on a strict diet . His meals were cut down from four to two. According to Shashank, he has involved his pet for this show to socialise him with other pets. He has been trained to walk prim and proper. And everytime he behaves as required, he gets a treat. "I've been teaching him to walk steadily, take one step at a time and keep pace with me," says Shashank.
"We thought it would be a first-of-its-kind event that both pets and their owners can look forward to," says Raj Gowda, owner of Eternity Entertainment, who is organising the fashion show.
And just when we feel that its a ‘Dog Fashion Show’ we tend to talk of the real ‘cat walk’. Yes! Not just the dogs have the chance to showcase and flaunt themselves but also the cats. Jessica, who has enrolled three of her cats says she hasn't really pumped them up much but have been making conscious efforts to keep their diet proper.
With the ongoing football World Cup, the entire theme of fashion show was also football based. The designer Shiney Alexander who has designed the outfits for most of the dogs says that the cheerleader dress and the team tees are the most chosen ones. Apart from the football based outfits there were the ballerina dresses , the hawaiian theme and many more interesting themes. The clothes cost somewhere between Rs 500 to Rs 3000 with collars. The designer says that she is working on a pet show for the first time.
The entire motive to host a pet show is to enhance the bond between the owner and the pet and also a distraction and and a series of fun and enjoyment for the pet itself. It gives them a loved feeling also a mode of strengthening the bond between the pet and the owner.
