05 Sep 2016 | by | Posted in: Wag News

Remember, a marathon runner, Dion Leonard met a stray dog during his marathon. This little dog ran over 77 miles with Leonard. In spite of not very favorable conditions, the mutt managed to accompany the athlete throughout. He named the dog, Gobi and was doing all his efforts to bring home the furball. There were so many formalities that involved Gobi’s adoption, right from paperwork being done in China and the money. Finally, the adorable four-legged friend of Dion is reunited and the picture is melting our hearts.

Apparently, according to certain reports, Gobi went missing once Leonard left for his home to raise funds for the pooch’s adoption procedure. From the fund raising activity, Dion managed to raise about $21000, while he just asked for $6600. After such striking figures, he announced that the additional amount will be donated to a dog charity. Apart from this, he again raised about $13200. The reason behind this as he had to fly to China and find the missing pooch.

On Thursday, once Dion reached China, he tweeted saying that his adorable love Gobi has been found. Along with this, he also posted a video on the “Bring Gobi Home” Facebook page. The reunion video is the sweetest thing you will see today. However, the dog can be seen with a wounded leg. It seems as if he was beaten by someone. When enquired about how Gobi was found, they found it best to keep mum.

Nevertheless, we couldn’t be happier for Gobi and Dion. The reunion is endearing and heartwarming.
