When it comes to animals – whether pets or otherwise, their health and well being is always a priority. The tedious task of prevention and treatment of diseases in animals requires care and an understanding of the complex anatomy of the animals. If it were not for veterinarians, care for animals would be an impossible task.
In the year 2000, the World Veterinary Association initiated the World Veterinary Day to be celebrated on the last Saturday of the April each year to honor and bring attention to the many ways in which veterinarians contribute to the health of animals and people around the globe. So whether it comes to pets, livestock, horses, animals in the zoo and exotic pets such as pets, reptiles and other small mammals such as turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, veterinarians are involved in improving the health and welfare of the animals, the people who are directly or indirectly involved and the environment at large.
When it comes to outbreaks of zoonotic diseases such as Swine flu, rabies or Ebola, the veterinarians are responsible for the investigation of the disease and issue policies to aid in the cure of the disease.
This World Veterinarian Day, we thank all the wonderful doctors who make caring for animals a easy task!
