I dnt really know what you mean, but GSD's are a classified as Working dogs.

There are various types of shepherd dog breeds, not necessarily related to each other, although there work may be more or less the same, for which they were developed.

Generally GSD's are black and tan, with the tan colour being more dark in some and less dark in others. Although there are other colors also like greyish and black, etc but black and tan being the one prefered in the ring. I have also seen a white one, rather an albino.

I am not sure if i get the reference to the sub-breed...
The most popular GSD is the black n tan color... other then that there is black n red'ish tan...
then there is a solid black (or jet black).. then there r white german shepherd.. but I am not sure if they are accepted in shows all over.. sometimes they are refered to as swiss shepherd.. i cud be wrong abt this one; and there also is a sable colored gsd.. which has no solid black color on its coat its just sable colored

There are working lines which r not quite the same as the show ring german shepherd (not that the show ring ones arn't capable of working.. they do well too).. but they do rather well with dog sports such as schutzhund .. u can goto leerburg.com to see working line gsd's.. he breeds only working line gsd.

....i dont know if its the 'sub-breed' that you're referring to but i came across articles of the King-Shepherd and the Shiloh German Shepherd......bred to be much larger. But i dont think it's recognized as the typical GSDs.

Hi samir....i couldn't locate any breeders of King Shepherds in India. I had the option of getting one through an agent/dealer with a strong recommendation, but eventually backed out because I prefer to know/see the parents of the pup and know the breeder. Also, in keeping with ethics, I would discourage you to buy it from mills, pet-shops and agents. I eventually got myself an English Mastiff from a reputed breeder....and I have no regrets.
Best regards.
