Aggressive Cocker spaniel with biting tendency and not able to leave alone - any suggestion

I have a 2 year old male American Cocker Spaniel. He is very aggressive and have a biting tendency towards anyone outside the family. Moreover we can't leave him alone at home because he keeps on barking until he sees anyone of us. As a result we are unable to go anywhere. We are unable to find a mating partner for him. Is that a reason. Will sterilization or any medication help
