If your pug does have scabies (called mange in dogs), it's most common form of transmission is through direct contact.
Mange is caused by mites. They are usually picked up in forests or from other dogs.

The best way to treat mange is by using a shampoo designed to kill the mites. You must bathe her once, then again in 3 weeks to kill off the newly hatched mites before they breed. You must also ask your vet for Revolution (https://www.revolution4dogs.c om/default.aspx)
This medication kills off parasites including the mite which causes mange.
