I think keeping Rottweiler, Gsd and Great dane won't be that easy. Rotweiller and gsd can be very territorial and can pose a potential danger to people living around your house unless they properly trained and socialise at an early age. I think, keeping one Gsd or rotweiller will be enough. Having an attendant will just not be enough for rotweiler as they need to be handled by an experienced pack leader.

Hello sir .......i m keeping rotts since childhood and i m also a founder and life member of rottweiler club of india.
if u r keeping them for first time ,then just start from female rott...they r easy to controle and they are more obedient in comparison of male rotts.....just remember one thing .....always buy a pup from pro.breeder , who always works for good quality and temperament ...
ROTTWEILERS are very intellegent dogs ,they always know about there power ,you just have to guide them......

Hello, if you do go for a female as Mr kumar has suggested, what you need to know is they come to heat twice a year and its best to get her spayed if you dont intend to use her for breeding. This will have great health benefits.when to get her neutered will be suggested by the vet. I feel wheather its male or female, a well trained and well socialised dog is what is required. Ive seen rottweilers ( irrespective of their sex ) being used as rescue and therapy dogs.

And remember, its a myth that females are calmer than males. There is no scientific justification. Its just a popular belief.

yes ,,there is hardly any diffrence between male and female temperament,,but huge diffrence between power .
do not matter they are dogs or human or any other animals.....that's why females are easy to controle in sense of power.

Great dane is not a guard dog. Even though they are big in size, they tend to have a calm temperament. If you want to scare off an intruder with his size, its ok but dont expect from him to attack the intruder.if you want a dog which is huge and have guarding instinct,go for bull mastiff. But, all huge size breeds have one disadvantage-they have short span of iife and tend to have a lot of health problems. If im to choose a guarding breed id go for dobermann pincher. They are trainable, shed less , extreamly loyal and go along well with children. They are renowned guard dog. Jhon louis doberman, a german tax collector invented this breed to protect himself from thieves. You know, you should watch dogs 101 on Animal Planet.not sure if they are running the episode but you can watch the archives on youtube.
