I bought a boxer puppy. It seems to be lazy or not well. Please suggest what to do?

Hi, I bought a boxer (50 days old) 2 days back and I named him Vijendra sINGH but my dad said that he would not be able to survive at our home as we don't have much space. We gave it back to the Person we bought that pup from. He kept it for 2 days and denied to keep it as we demanded for a pug. We brought it back today at our home and i gave him few seeds of royal canon and after that he played for around an hour he went to his bed and got to sleep. My mom observed that he was not sleeping as his eyes were opened and just lying down. he seemed to be so lazy and i was shocked when my mom put his food in front of him and he didn't have a single bite of it. he just smelled his food and drunk the water that was coming out of the bowl. We also noticed that he vommited on his bed and he has loose stools. he is not moving from his bed and just lying on it. we consulted to a vet and he asked us to buy a syrip from medical shop and we gave it to Vijendra. No improvments so far. Please su

Hi Hitesh

Boxers are a very active breed of dogs and require a lot of physical and mental exercise to stay active and engaged. Even if you do not have enough space in your house, make sure that you take Vijendra for long runs everyday.

As for the health, we would suggest that you take Vijendra to a vet and have a thorough medical check up done.

We wish Vijendra a speedy recovery.

Thanx for the revert.

I brought Vijendra to a vet today and he said that we are not supposed to give Vijendra anything to eat not even water to drink as he is vomiting consistently. he has loose stools and become so dehydrated. his nose is dry. so weak and thin. I am so worried about him.

Dr. dripped him twice today once in the morning, once in eve. He has been injected a lot of liquid medicines through drip and doctor calls it cocktail.

Vet has clearly told us that it may take upto a while to see the improvements and he has no guarantee that even after paying a huge amount on daily basis, he may die in a couple of days.

Vet is ready to give us the treatment that has been given to Vijendra, in written so that we can get ir checked by some other dr.

But in the morning he told me that Vijendra will defiantly recover soon. I really dont understand what is going on. Pls suggest whether i am on right path ??

There is an other thing that i wanted to confirm.
We bought is from a well known shop in Jaipur called IDB (MI Road) and he didn't tell me the terms n conditions. Disease that he is suffering from Canine Distemper causes due to be in touch with other dogs who are facing the same issue. And the day we brought him back at our home, he got ill. It meanns that it happened coz of that shopkeeper.

Can we go legal against him ?? If yes then what would be the procedure ?

Please suggest...

Hi Hitesh

Canine Distemper is a viral disease that can effect puppies and adult dogs alike. Unhygenic conditions at pet shops can lead to the spreading of the disease. Going legal will not really help.

We would suggest that you take care of Vijendra and wish him speedy recovery from our side. Please keep patience and pray for his speedy recovery.
