The best time to get a puppy home is when they are over 40 days old. A 28-day old puppy is too young to handle and it’s best that they stay with their mother. However, now that you have a little puppy home, please don’t fret. He/she might need a little extra care as opposed to the ones you bring home a little later.Know that your puppy might have withdrawal symptoms from the mother and that is okay. He/she will take some time to adjust to the new house. Make sure you are feeding your puppy 3-4 times a day with a bottle since the puppy is too young to drink from the bowl. You can also try feeding them milk with cotton balls one drop at a time. Please note that responsible breeders keep the puppies with their mother longer than 40 days. Make sure you spend enough time with your pup and give him the extra care and attention he/she needs. When pups are a month old, they have a fully developed vision and are very energetic. Make sure your pup is eager to explore the surroundings around the house and play around.
