why dont you just give him boiled meat and very little rice? its very healthy and u can give him boiled eggs sometimes. also u may add veggies like carrots pumpkins... my dog is also very allergic to milk. i give him curd and sometimes paneer but in very less quantity

boiled meat is out of the q.--i'm a veg. i dont mind kibble because it's dry. unless he's very hungry, he's finicky--curd has to be watery, chapathi has to be dry and he doesn't eat rice. carrots he loves and potato and sweet potato. egg is the only item always eaten with relish plus of course, milk, kibble. is there a preserved version of meat?

lila, what why r u doing this to ur dog? i mean dogs are carnivorous. a veg diet is not for them. they need animal protein. dogs have a very short digestive track so they just cant break down veggies and grains. and kibbles are not healthy. just imagine if u are served grass for your dinner how would you feel. same way, you are starving your dog. dogs who eat grains like rice, chapati develop diabetes. its a slow poison for dogs. if you are a vegetarian it is ok but u cant change mother nature. dogs are carnivorous by nature.

oh dear. i thot egg wd make up the deficiency. well, i'll have to get the watchman to prepare something for him, then. my previous pet managed pretty well on egg and kibble till he fell sick and then i only changed to cooked meat to enable him to take his medicine. thanx a lot for yr prompt answer. it's agreat relief as it's sunday and anyway, our vet thinks i'm overly anxious.

if its just loose stools and no blood or stool is not tarry black and smelly then you can simply add some raw boiled banana to his diet. this will make his stools firm. however if he has very watery stools and has done it more than twice, u shud talk to the vet.

Thanks d chakrabarty---the banana tip worked wonderfully. I thot he needed a little fat-and added a few drops of ghee coconut oil to his diet--perhaps that precipitated the situation. now he seems to be a bit thin tho active as ever. so either fresh meat or a different kibble. thanks again
