Black stools in humans is a condition known as Malena and indicates upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding (i.e. bleeding site before the stomach upto the mouth). Has he been vomiting as well? No ova or cysts are reported so parasites are ruled out. If he has severe bouts of vomiting along with wheezing/respiratory discomfort it could be a Diverticulum. Try deworming him once to rule out worm infestations.
