Does anyone know about a pet food called Taste of the Wild ?

Hi Does anyone here, know about a pet food called Taste of the Wild ?. It has been launched in India recently, its a grainfree dog food, free from corn, wheat and soy, probiotics and prebiotics included, chelated minerals and no bi products. It also has sweet potatoes and peas for carbs and fibre, fruits also included. I called up the company and got these details, this brand is Whole Dog Journal approved. I was looking forward to order the fish variety, any further comments on the brand?

If itz really launched in India.....Itz gonna b the best product so far available here....Trust me.....Royal canin and eukanuba are some of the useless and extra-expensive products available besides the cheap quality pedigree.....So this is go'ng to b a real big bless'ng 4 true dog loverz....

Are u shipp'ng it....Or Is it already available in the market??

My dog is has always been on this food, and has done really well with it. Good muscle building and nice coat. I have tried all the flovors but he seems to like the High Prairie formula the best.

Thanks Hameed for th info. Strangely I havebeen feeding taste of wild to my dogs which are giant breed. Noticed no problems. Does timber wolf have a specific formula for giant and large breeds?
I did not see timberwolf on the wdj list. Please advise.

Hi Vikram, I am just talking about giant breed puppies giant breeds above two years old will do just fine on taste of the wild. In feeding giant breed what really matters is the Calcium and phosphorous Ratio, Second comes protein and fat, and finally the calorie. go through various dog specific forums to get proof on this( coz i have spent a lot of time on these and i cant provide just one link) first lets take taste of the wild- both the pacific stream and Sierra Mountain formula has the same level of Protein and Fat, but different Calcium levels, Sierra has lesser than Pacific stream, and hence TOTW recommends Sierra over Pacific Stream. And if you notice there is not a direct yes answer to that FAQ too. In Timberwolf there are two varieties with lower level calciums that are great for growing Giant and large breed puppies. So you need not worry because you got dogs and not puppies. I was just educating others on a known issue. May be when you buy a puppy this info might help you.

TOTW, Hyderabad dealer is selling recalled products. Pls check the production codes as listed in diamondpetrecall.com before accepting delivery! If you speak with the dealer, he will tell you, "Its all fine. We have fresh stocks", but will still deliver recalled stock. I wrote to diamond pet foods but haven't received a reply yet!

Hi All,

FYI on TOTW :

This information has been issued by TOTW website & Diamond Pet Foods.

To determine if their pet food is recalled, consumers should check the production code on their bag. If the code has a “2” or “3” in the 9th position AND an “X” in the 10th or 11th position, the product is affected by the recall. The best-before dates for the recalled products are December 9, 2012 through April 7 2013.

Make sure you check this before you serve the food to your dog.

TASTE OF THE WILD dogfood being sold on dogspot.in is affected by salmonella. It has been voluntarily recalled in the US.You can check the diamond pet food recall website for the same. Here is the link: http://diamondpetrecall.com/re call-q-a/

taste of the wild dog food that is available in the country/dogspot now is NOT affected with salmonella...even if the production code matches the batch that has been called back..when food is being imported its been tested for salmonella and not all the bags under the batch have been affected...its just a call back they did for safety...therefore totw available here is free of salmonella....totw is the best food around here
