Hi Santy pls be calm. It will take more than a month to get completely cured from mange. I hope ur doc has put him on Ivermectin and given u benzyl benzoate topical lotion!! Continue the medication he will get well soon. What kind of Mange it is? Demodex or Scabies? Whatever it is Ivermectin is the best medicine for mange. Provide him best food so that he improves his immunity which can fasten the cure.

Mange is usually transmitted by dog to dog. Has your dobie encountered any other dogs recently? IF so, he most likely got it from them.

Demodex mites usually get transmitted from the mother to the puppies. When the immunity level of the pup comes down it starts to spread. Is your Dog in teething stage? or any kind of a stress? This can reduce the immunity. Just make sure you give food that improves immunity. Try immunol a supplement from Himalaya pet products

Hi you can also try RIDD with dilute in water as per the ratio given on the packet. As somebody told you ivermectinis the best it's very true. You can use neomac tablet as a treatment for Mange or ivermectin injection. But keep in mind that do not use ivermectin for longe period; consult with doctor before giving ivermection. Use liver tonic like live 52 or etc. for develop more immunity and resistance power. Let me know the status after using this.

sir for mange the best treatment which I have tried successfully is as follows.
If the dog is having severe mange like the skin are in patches then you need to apply petben shampoo work the lather and leave it for atleast 1/2 hr.Then rinse with water and in one litre of water mix ten ml of ridd and apply all over the body except the head. this bath treatment should be given very alternate days for fifteen days and then prolonged as per the condition.you also need to give droxyl 500mg and wysalone 10mg tabs daily for fifteen days daily twice.bala

Santy, has his thyroid been checked? Thyroid issues can cause hair loss as well as a smell.

Demodex bacteria is common in all living animals. It effects the animals with weak breed, as immunity of a dog is hereditary. Please it is a compulsary fact to spay your pet. All others will suffer the same condition if you keep breeding them. Its expensive and exhausting treatment is not easy for everyone. For some dogs the effects maybe much worse

Skin infection in dogs some times may take longer time to cure. Various types of test can be done by the vet to find the cause of skin infection and then the treatment is done. Do take your dog to vet when asked for follow up.
