What to do if dog is not able to stand even for getting fresh, eating etc.. ?

My dog is of 12 years. His breed is spitz. He is a fatty dog. He is having some problems. He can't walk or stand up by himself. His back legs slips. We have to help him for standing. He has no energy. He dont move for anything like bathroom, eating ,drinking etc. Just lying down in one place. We give him food ,water in front of his mouth otherwise he dont even ask for food and water. Some days before he was urinating in sleep but after taking him to the vet ,this problem cured . he has increased urine production and water consumption. His nose and mouth became very dry . Yesterday he vomitted one time. Till today he has no eating problem but today he is not willing to take food. One vet suggested he has arthritis problem in leg and another told he has some kind of kidney infection and suggested for urine culture test and recommended medicines. He told that his legs are not paralysed. But we are not seeing any improvement in his standing problem. Just lying down. We are very tensed. Please help ..

This is a serious problem and not something that can be addressed in this forum.See a good vet, gets proper tests done and followup strongly.

1. At 12 years, your dog is showing signs of aging. 2.He can't stand or walk by himself which is indicative of perhaps a untreated hip problem. 3.He has no energy, and doesnt even ask for food and confined to a place...might be suffering from depression aswell. 4.Vets have suggested arthritis and maybe a kidney problem.5.Increased urination and water consumption are all serious indicators of a sick dog. 6.He has no bladder control or is too weak to even urinate out or in the bathroom.

These are multiple complications.Imagine a human facing the same issues, would you say it is a serious problem then or not!?! WHAT ELSE NEEDS TO HAPPEN TO THE POOR GUY FOR YOU TO REALIZE THAT IT IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM, WHICH CAN ONLY BE SOLVED BY A GOOD VET AFTER EXTENSIVE TESTS AND MEDICATION AND NOT ON FORUMS LIKE THIS BY UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE INCLUDING ME. Take some time, effort and money if you care for him.

Hi,i too have a spitz.he is 11 yrs and the same problem except that he has more complications. He cannot walk ,whenever he tries to get up his legs slip away. His appetite is gone for a toss.the doc says he has got arthritis and his kidneys were tested ,it all came out to be normal. And the worst part is that he is bleeding from his nose for the last one month, possibilities of nasal cancer. He is on medications but nothing seems to work..
Your dogs needs serious attention, cause this is not a ORDINARY problem!!!!

"Good vet doctor". Shit. One should say to a a "good vet hospital". A single vet doctor running his clinic is of no help as his/her knowledge and experience is limited to being like that of a general physician and not a specialist in anything.
