Hi every body, I am looking for a suitable mate for my great dane bitch in Bangalore. She is 20 mths now, black in colour with excellent disposition. She is microchipped and registered with KCI. Regards Saurabh

Hi, I am also having Great Dane bitch. Can u tell me what was your bitches height when it was 9 months old? My Bitch is 9 months old and 26 inches tall to the withers. Can i expect some more height from her? If so how much? She came to first heat now. will it grow after heat? how many inches of height can i expect? May I know what is your bitches height? kindly suggest me........

Hi Rangoon,
Great Dane dogs generally grow till about 15-16 mths. Though this is not a hard and fast rule as some have continued growing till abt 2 and a half to 3 yrs too and some stop a bit early. Bitches are generallly short and i believe you already have exercised on these facts. I all depends on the genetic predisposition man. If you have seen her father and mother rest assure she will be fine. Moreover if you have got her as a pet, size doesn't matter.
My bitch is 34 inches at the shoulder and she was growing tall till abt 15 mths of age.

I believe you should wait for at least 6-8 months. It will be good for your dog and future puppies.
