I am very sad because my 4 months old lab puppy died yesterday, help?

Hi everyone Today I am very sad because my 4 months old lab puppy died yesterday. I am not able to understand what exactly happened to him as he was quite well and healthy, he starts vomiting 3-4 days back and the problem grown bigger day by day, later loose motions started then bleeding started in motions and vomit. I was taking him to vet. 2times in a day from last three four days, spent whatever the vet demands but no use......atlast he died before me and my wife's eyes and we were not able to save him. In last two days he suffered too much that I have no words to explain, Me and my wife can never forget his last few hours with us. Doctor told me that this was an gastric virus infection and given treatment for the same can anyone told me that this infection is so severe that it can cause death, although all the possible treatment was given?? Today we are so heart broken that we are not interested to adopt any dog as we could not save our little Jhonie......

Hi Mannan, So sorry for your loss as puppies/dogs wind themselves around our hearts and become as dear as family members. However, please DO consider adopting an Indian dog from the kennels. They are truly wonderful and deserve to have kind loving homes to live in.

Looks like to be PARVO. Was he vaccinated by any means because a 4 month puppy should have had this vaccine given within 2 months of birth

Your pup got infected by PARVO VIRUS. Thus I advised everyone who bought/bring puppy at very infant age. Mother's milk is vital till 60 days and then deworming and 2 vaccines named : puppy dp and dhppi must be done to get protected by Parvo, hepatitis, leptospirosis.
Then at defined interval rabies shot will be given.
Before getting any pup think following things seriously :
*You are free enough to take care of your pup? They are babies and must not be ignored.
*Your house is puppy proof? Some puppies are naughty and make things mess.
* Have enough medicine/vet contact/transport facility at home? In case of any delicate situation.
* Must have tolerance of puppy odour, primary barking, socialization and getting home dirty.
* Make house neat and hygenic for puppy.
* Never get puppy before 60 days as puppy needs his mum milk to make antibodies and socialize dog nature.
* Get his deworming and vaccines at time (don't delay).

Prefer to adopt a rescues dog and give a life to make Jhonnie's soul happy - If you meet following points.

Ya Arpit his vaccination was going on only one vaccine is due on 21st April (ARV 1st booster) but he is no more for the same. My vet had not told me about this virus in fact Yesterday I requested him to admit my pup in his clinic for his supervision but he assure me there is nothing to worry, his condition will improve from tomorrow but there is no tomorrow.....
Any way thanks for ur valuable reply

May his soul rest in peace... I read a few incidents like this happen, and in some online forum they were talking about Blot (another disease due to gastric problems)... Even My Tiger doesnt eat properly, I was worried when he was vomitting 2 days ago, but that was due to heat i guess, i gave him buttermilk and now he is alright!

I think it is tough to understand whats going wrong with a puppy, because they cant express in our language :(
