how old is you pug?
Pug's do shed quite a bit.. almost around the year. Fawn pugs with a double coat shed the most.

Check his paws and if it is rediss and has a bit of a smell then it can be an infection, like mange. Nothing to worry show your vet and it will get ok. Pugs otherwise shed all year around
