Dear Vitun
When u take ur GSD 4 outings is he shy or hesitate or scared of the noisy whecles that come across ,if yes try to socialise him with outside world , for around a month u give him a treet on every outings of the eatables he like most

U said U have already started to work on him, thats a good point. Being a pup he is very active & thats the reason he climbs the stairs quickly. Going down takes more balance & thats why he his slower when coming down. U can teach him the proper way to climb stairs. Put a leash & take him down. Walk for a couple of minutes to tire him a little bit. Dont forget to take some dog treats with u while going out. Now come back to the stairs. Climb one or two & stop. If he stops give him a treat immediately. Again climb & stop. Repeat this everyday. Let him realise that by climbing alongside u will result in a lovely treat. If he climbs fast then stop immediate & start again. Use the leash to control him. NO treat for climbing fast. He wil gradually learn. U can also associate a word to slow him down like "Easy Boy" when he hurries up.If he slows down throw him a treat.
Hope this help.

thanx so much guys for ur valuable suggestions . Actually i am using treats to motivate himb to climb stairs in proper way just the way Runni suggested but the prob is he pulls the leash back and fight like he dosent want to climb it .. but if i try to slow him down in between he slips couple of stairs hurts himself . I hav tried another way out ... i hav dropped couple of treats on every alternate stair so that he can slow down but it simply dosent work for me ... i have low food drive dog. n for me treats sometimes work sometimes not .. n in this case its nt working ... any other way out guys ... Plz Help

If treat is not working then try to find out what he likes most, may be a cuddle from u or a special toy. U may also try to find if any other treat works or not. Then U can use that to bribe him.
Another way is to ask some other family member to assist u. Ask him/her to wait with the pup at the bottom. Then u climb 2 steps & call ur dog. If he comes then encourage him by doing what he likes most, may be a neck/chest rub. The other person should hold the leash (not tightly) & in case the pup is not going to u then he can push very little to encourage him to go to u. Be cuatious not to push too hard. Gradually move up & call ur pup. He needs to learn that stairs have nothing to worry about. Once he is ok with stairs he will slow down.

Hi viun,
It seems that u r lacking in ur handling ,u r as ur dog wants to be with him and this is not the right way to love ur pet as he will start dominating u and will be not in control in future, give him a good exercise so that he will be tired enough and all the stored energy is being utilised and yes also use choke chain and while climbing the stairs hold the choke chain end firmly mean to say u r not suppose to let ur dog away from ur thigh and if he try to pull keep holding the chain firmly in ur hand as u always have to convey and realise ur dog that u r more powerfull and he have to behave as u want him to behave

No afzal , no offence but i think u r picturizing it wrong. I hav been extensively exerciseing him daily 2 twice a day 1 and a half our to drain out his energy. actually he is very obedient even under distarctions .. trust and respect goes hand in hand for me ... for collars iam using prong collar which i think is more close to their mother nature . i dont use choke chains because i think they r not effective training collars ( this is waht i think). evrything is perfectly fine except stair problem. Anyways thanx Afzal thanx to runni also will surely work on runni's advise ... Thanx again
