Labrador always...A lab is extremely playful and friendly..But i personally suggest a German shepherd because it can be a protector of your children..You just need to spent some time with a GSD initially ..After that its an awesome dog ..visit my page on fb www.facebook.com/CarbonGSD

There is nothing called best or worst DOGs for a home with kids. I had a lab when my daughter was 5yrs old and he was the most bouncy dog I have ever seen, which use cause problem for my daughter. I have a Doberman now who is the gentlest dog I have ever seen. My daughter is now 14 yrs old but I have kids aged from 2yrs to 14yrs visiting my home very frequently and none of kids were ever been threatened by my doberman or harmed. Infact my experience of keeping dog for more than 15yrs now says its all depend on training and upbringing. Please train and socialize your pup from young age he/she will be the best friend for your kids.HTH :)
