I have a 2.5 yr old black male Labrador what is the right age to get him mated

I have a 2.5 yr old black male Labrador champion breed named Dawn. All dog are champions in his family. What is the right age for us to get him to mate? Is it necessary to get him to mate? He gets excited sometimes because we have a bitch in the street, but we obviously don't let him do anything there. So wanted to know how advisable is it to get our champ mated? what is the right age?

An average male and female Labrador attains sexual maturity anywhere between six to nine months of age. Though you puppy is still very young to breed now.

A dog takes around 18 months to reach his full height and structure. It is advisable to breed your dogs after at least two years of age. If you are first timer at breeding then taking a vets care is advisable.

It's a myth that every dog should be bred. Infact it's absolutely NOT necessary to breed a dog and contribute towards the dog overpopulation.
