Give him curd. Dont give him milk in pure form. Dogs are not good with milk. My lab has also same problem but i dont give him milk as per my vet says. Cottage cheese is also fine. I give my lab roti, curd, veg. boiled, bread and eggs, soyabean chunks. Try curd it is very good for his stomach.

@ Abhishek : If ur pooh likes to eat rice (esp. brown-unpolished) with curd or meat or egg. Give it to him. It is also very fine. and once again I would suggest u not to give milk either it is mixed with water. Try to give him dry food more. Dont mix food with milk all the time. I've also just change my way to feed my lab and now he is very good with his digestion. Its my view...and also after discussion with vet. Hope this helps. Have a happy time with pet.

Hi Abhishek : It is good tht u worry about ur pet much. As I am like tht for mine. But be patient when u change a dog's diet it will take time to adjust with it and getting health is little bit time taking like a child. You are already have written tht he is now ok it means he is adjusting than go on with it and dont worry. It will go better. If he is active and playful, calm than he would be ok. Have a Happy pet.

These signs of puppy is showing the lack of nutritions. Just connect with the vet and take care of his diet. I'nk it would correct his health.

Hi Abhishek : The diet suggested by ur vet is fine but is it ok with ghee to dog? Just ask him again, bec'se my vet says ghee is not a good diet for dog. Use oil instead-- soya, suffola etc. One thing that i would like to share with u that I've also adopted my pooh...six months before..at the age of 2.5 yrs. At that time he was not in much good condition like recovering from skin problem, hair loss and poor health. But after taking much care and keep in mind the suggestions of dog experts, vets and by the grace of god his health is now very good, coat is better and ya naughty in the area. so be patience. and continue with this diet. it will help better. Even I think the training can help dogs to be well mannered. So it is depend on u, whether u get him trained or not. U also can train him urself some basic commands by small treats.

Bijal; anything wrong with ghee as we give him only dry food [no milk] so it may replace we thought we use suffola for making chapati n after that i apply ghee to chapati n give him i gave him little bit boiled vegetables n dal he cudnt digest every thing out in pee mzzz.. he is fond of idlis so i cook for him every two days and coming to behaviour whenever any guests enter within some minutes they wil be fed up of him n say please tie him jumping over them making naughty things so we thought to train him

Do we have any alternatives to improve his health, i mean if this diet is nt working, to improve his look n another imp thjng i wanna to mention. he is always hungry, his diet [mrng at 7.30 i give him 3-4 biscuits, at 9 am 4-5 idlis, again at 1.30 2 chapatis n at 5.30pm 2 chapati or curd rice n in the night 8pm 1 handfull of Royal canjne.] is this enough or shud i increase the quantity. Always i give him first n have my food, he sits in front of us as if i hv nt given him anything to eat ! can we improve this behaviour.

Agree with u Abhishek. Training is much needed by a dog. It is his age to train him properly otherwise it would be mess up in the house. Also it is the basic instinct dogs to see the food like this. As urs is a puppy he needs more energy but i'nk ur schedule is ok according to his age. Also try to avoid him while taking ur lunch or dinner. And dont give him anything when u r eating something. It will create a bad habit. As I'm also suffer with my pooh. Earlier he was very much fyn when we were having our food or snacks but my son and also me have spoiled him by giving snacks or other things. And he is also doing the same thing like urs when we have something like this. ya but not on lunch or dinner.

please wil u tell me abt looks whether at growing stage they wil be thin or better, ours is very lean , everyone asks y he is so lean.our vet said he is hvng digestion problem n repeated problem of loose motion wil make him look like that.May be hvng problem in his genes. anything given in more quantity, as giving 4-5 idlis raised to 6 he starts pee within sometime that to 5-6 within a hour, that to in the whole house, is there any solution fr that as we stay in a flat, i feel very irritated. As u said u have adopted ur pooh, hw was he looking that time ?

ya mine was not much thin. but in comparison to obsese lab he was thin. But now he is very much good in health as i said earlier. Be patience ur pooh will be ok with medicines and diet. Dont give him more than that he required it will also create problem. Try to do some physical activities to him. It is also necessary for a growing dog. As i said earlier my lab has taken 4-5 months to get his health back. As he was abandoned in very poor condition and passed through a mentally distressed condition, I know what i've had care for him. so take care and try to get him potty & pee train its very necessary. because after suffering a long time one is getting tired to do all these things and is one of the main reason to abandon the pet. Best of Luck.

No way! i never abandon him as many people do, whatever he does he is my pup , if that situation comes i wil find out a Dog lover n who takes Good care of him we can give him for adoption also , i think that is the better way. Ya we give him lot of physical exercises , n medicines never forget to giv him. Jus i m worid abt his health ,in my life i hv not seen so sensitive health dog , as 1 of our friend was saying that these breeds little bit sensitive in health not as doberman or rotty, is it True?

Hello Abhishek,I am Dr Dhananjay A pet nutritionist from Mumbai and I have some info on your pet.A puppy has fragile digestive system and he is not able to digest milk and dairy products as they have lactose(milk sugar) as they are lacking in Lactase an enzyme responsible for lactose digestion and then the undigested lactose goes to the large intestine where it is food for harmful bacterias which are causing digestive upsets. So stop giving him milk.Your pet doesnt share the same type of digestive sensitvity as human being and so high amount of carbohydrate can cause digestive upsets. If you are giving Royal Canin then I suggest Maxi Baby dog 400gms divided in 3 meals ie 133 gms,3 times in a day.Let me know the current weight of your puppy.Thumb rule is your puppy should weigh around 17.5 if female and 20 kgs if male.Any further question the u can ask me and if you need to call call me on 09820511915.Dont worry your pet will be fine if u follow simple rules of Deworming,Giving food as recommended and water given to your pet be boiled for atleast 20 minutes.
