I have 3 Tibetan Mastiffs. As youngsters they were all very fussy eaters. I fed 3meals a day untill a year & 2 meals till 18 months. Mine would not eat dry food.(Kibble). I fed raw meat tripe & beef ,raw chicken wings. They have a bowl of goats milt + raw eggs. They do not eat as much as you think for a large dog. As a youngster about 2lb meat a day. When adult 3 years I cut down to about 1lb a day. Mine also get raw marrow bones weekly. Hope this helps. If you need any more information contact me through my website.

Mine will not eat rice or vegetables either.Every other evening they have 4oz of dry food if they want it.if you look at my website you can see they are all nice dogs.If you go to our tms. Then Caspar's photos you will see he looked very tall & skinny at 6 months. He started to fill out at a year old.His son Milo was not quite so bad.i think in the wild they would not eat rice etc. Hence I like to feed black tripe as that is a natural diet.

They are lean as pups and at this age and that is look as no extra weight should be put on there bones right now. With age they fill out. TB are slow maturing dogs and take upto 3 yrs to come to their full potential. You will need to deworm him regularly and feed him a good diet like Royal Canin or Eukanoba. Home food can be a problem cooking for a big dog plus if not cooked properly can cause a lot of problems. These dogs also need proper exercise otherwise they can get destructive or even ferocious which you dont want them to become. Becareful of the extra energy and sudden boost of energy that they can get. These breeds also have a tendencay of roaming away from home to again be careful and have them on a leash always when out with them. They are very good jumper and hence a 7 plus high fence is advised.

I can go on abt TMs so if you have any other questions shoot.
