I have been looking to get another dog ever since i lost my 10 year old Boxer?

Hi, I have been looking to get another dog ever since i lost my 10 year old Boxer. I have decided to either go ahead with the same breed or buy a Yorkshire terrier pup. Though I know the price of a pet can vary from 5000-5 lac or some other astronomical figure, but my budget for a boxer is not more than 12k and for a Yorkshire terrier not more than 30k. I have been speaking to a lot of vets and pet shops but some how i don't that confidence to buy from them. Also most of them are selling their pups without proper papers so that's another reason of not picking up a pup from there. Could anyone here guide me from where to pick up the dog/dogs from? Thanks a lot in advance for viewing this and answering my question.

The two breeds mentioned by you are very different in all aspects. So first you need to look into that area and decide. As for buying a pup, one should buy only from a reputed breeder. Where exactly are you based. The are a lot of boxer breeders. Yorky breeders you will have to look around and i dont think there are any as such, so for that you may have to import one from a good kennel. It would be better to go in for a breed which is available in India, so that you know what you are buying.
Also read articles on buying a pup etc on this website.

Thanks Dinkar, I have done extensive study on the above two. I kept a boxer for 10 years and i loved every moment of it from the day i got him home till our last moment together... The reason i have shortlisted a yorky is because it's small and does not shed and would make a great family pet. Also another fact is that I have a 11.5 year old spitz at home.

I am based out Delhi (West). Also importing a yorky would cost me a lot and my budget's wont allow me at the moment. I have decent experience of raising pets since the new pup would be my 4th pet.

Thanks again for your time.

Thanks Shalin. Please provide me the number, would speak to them. Also Bolt looks cute and reminds me of my dog. I also read he is from the Mehta Line I am assuming it's the same Shyam Mehta Next Step Kennel line. If you don't mind could you tell me how much did you buy bolt for? I spoke to some one a short while back he quoted me around 20k for a boxer from the same line.

Thanks Again.
