Never pick up a pup who is less than 2 months old. When people dont take advise from this helpful website then why to they seek advise from here.

Anyway......at 30 days I would suggest feeding ceralac atleast 4 times a day and then trying to introduce other manufactured foods like Royal Canin or Eukanoba after seeing the pack for age and breed. for example in RC you get food specially for labs but you need to see the age and then accordingly buy the different stage food.

A fat dog is not a healthy dog so feed ur dog good nutritious food and all will be fine. Labs have a tendancy with age to put on a lot of weight so be careful

Well said Dinkar, also good advise.
@logan.. don't let ur puppy get fat.. even when an adult balance his food n exercise.
I've seen many labs who're so overweight they can't get into a vehicle such as a SUV by themselves, n thats sad.

Only 1 month old & u want it to be fat??!!
I really feel bad when I see those fat & obese kids & the same applies to pups too....let it grow in size, nt in weight...
a fat puppy will never grow up to b a healthy adult dog...so feed balanced & nutritional food....mintain a proper weight...& surely u will have a gr8 looking lab soon..

i feel many people buy puppies and then surf net for more information
@ Mr dinkar nice information
@ Logan - fpllow the advice of Mr dinkar
some thing need to be done to create awareness and encourage people to adopt puppies rather then buying

adopting dogs is a good idea, not everyone needs a well breed dog.

But in the absence of breeding programs, one won't find quality dogs, and genetic flaws will thrive within few generations, just an opinion.

Have you tried curd, its full of protein, low in lactose. Its better than milk. You can add to his daily food or give for breakfast.

Ah I remember when I got Jerry just 40 days old..cute little fur ball...yes your answer..

Feed Cerelac(stage 1)+Water 4-5 times a day with soup like consistency if your pup avoids drinking water else make the mixture a little more paste like. And feed nothing else.Avoid milk. After ageing till 70 days or more try introducing dog foods and other things.Treat him like a 2 month old human baby and act likewise.

Stay away from complex foods. And yes a fat dog is not always a healthy dog.Give it lots of love and a very clean surrounding(helps avoiding infections).Keep in touch with a vet for a couple of weeks, any anomaly(stool, urine, indigestio n etc) in health should be reported asap.

Take care. :)
