I have large breed dog, Tibetan Mastiff. Since a few days he has become a bit lazy, help?

I have a large breed dog, tibetan mastiff. Since a few days he has become a bit lazy and doesnt run at the speed and for the time he used to earlier. I think he gets tired after running only 2 rounds. Is he getting lazy for the climate or is he becoming weak,i cant figure it out.He is eating properly, walking normally and behaving normal too. He has got a small pimple-sized bruise on his left foreleg. Is this the reason why he doesnt like to run these days? What should i do to heal it and make him run again? And on what speed should i make him run?

Where do you live. If in the plains then heat could be one reason why he is not that active. How old is he. If you live in the hills it can be a leech mark after falling off. The problem with TM is that they can bear a lot of pain and one really does not know what the problem or if he is in pain for quite some time. Monsoons invite a lot of skin problems. I have not seen the wond so cannot comment, but show it to a vet. You can also clean it with Betadine liquid and then apply some dusting powder for the wound to try up.

But if he is eating properly then it should be ok and if he is not limping. As for the exercise, do you make him run or does he do it yourself, plus what is the area he lives in farm house, tied or open etc.

I have had a lot of TMs in the past and they again are great dogs but can be stubborn and have a mind of themselves at times and have a tendancy to roam every once in a while so be careful.

thanku very much for ur assisstance.i live in an apartment with a huge ground, garden and a playground too. as u said it might have been bcos of d wound bcos he is eating properly, taking walks regularly and doing ething else ass usual.and as the wound is healing he has started running a round or so now a days.i think after a few days as it heals up completely he will start running again.

I would also advise you to not make the dog run around too much right now and let the wound heal properly as by running around the wound may not heal as quickly as it should plus if water gets in it can get septic and also flies that can infect the wound.

Please tell us how old the dog is. Big dogs can get tired easily, start panting,
and ths not want to run in the heat. walking with hte wound amy not hurt him all taht much, as does running.
