How often one should bathe his dog? Any shampoo suggestion to keep away the dirt?

Hello all, I moved to India recently and my westie came with me. He seems to have adjusted fine -there are many dogs in the neighborhood and he gets to play everyday. The problem is he comes back dirty everyday. He is white and every little bit of dirt appears prominent on him. The general advice is to bathe westies once a month, but I can see that, it is not going to work here. I have been washing his feet each day, and bathed him when he was very dirty. I was just - How often do you bathe your dogs? Is there shampoo you would recommend to keep their skin from getting dry (westies have sensitive skins)? Any advice is appreciated. I would hate to keep him from playing with his doggie friends. Thank you.

I've a lab and he is used to play on my terrace, sits on the floor in summers, when on walk likes to play in sand and in parks. He also gets dirty but he is black in coat so I do brush everyday 10-15 mins. twice or ones. In summer, bath is given 10-15 days interval. I use PETDERM shampoo referred by vet. My dog has also dry skin. It is better to consult a vet if you have any doubt. But it is not advisable to give bath very frequently to dogs. In summer once in a week if you are very concern and in winter once or twice in a month is good.

Let him be a happy dirty dog as long as there are no health concern rather than being a sparkling clean white unhappy dog ! You can work out a dry cleaning routine rather than a frequent water bath which would add to the dry skin especially with Mumbai climate. I bathe my GSD on a need basis (Once a month and max twice a month) and for me looking good isn't a need. They are meant to run around on grass and mud.
